Two key PHL envoys in Saudi Arabia end tour of duty
The Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia has lost two key officers who had ended their tour of duty there and have left the Kingdom.
In a news release on its website, the embassy said the departure of the two is part of the "regular rotation" of embassy and attached services officials.
Leaving their posts were First Secretary and Consul Mohd Noordin Lomondot and social welfare attache Nilda Oliva.
Lomondot, the head of the embassy's consular section, left last May 29 to assume his new post as First Secretary and Consul in the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Replacing him is Winston Almeda, who is to arrive in mid-June from the Philippine Embassy in Paris, France.
Meanwhile, Oliva ended her two-year tour of duty last June 1 and has left for the Philippines.
Her replacement is Perlita Panganiban, a registered social worker and holder of a Masters of Social Work from the University of the Philippines.
The embassy said Panganiban, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, with a major in Management at the Saint Louis University in Baguio city, served as Chief of Division in Institutional Development and also as Chief of Technical Division, of DSWD in Cordillera Administrative Region.
It said Panganiban has presented a country paper on child abuse in the Philippines at the Japan College of Social Work during the 17th Asian Social Welfare Administration Study Program in Tokyo in 1999.
She has also received awards, citations and commendations during her 33 years of government service. — LBG, GMA News
