POEA adds 1 day with extended hours for OFW peak season

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has expanded its extended hours for the peak season for overseas Filipino workers heading abroad for work in December and January.

POEA head Hans Leo Cacdac on Tuesday added Dec. 16 to the dates the POEA's Balik Manggagawa program at its central office in Mandaluyong City will be open.

In an update posted on his Twitter account, Cacdac said the additional peak season work hours at the Balik Manggagawa Center, which starts at 6 a.m., will now be on December 16, 23, 26 and- January: 2, 3, 6.

Cacdac also reiterated the POEA central office will be open Jan. 4, Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon.

He suggested as well that OFWs set an appointment online via bmappointment.poea.gov.ph.

Cacdac also said his office is looking at the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and Pag-IBIG offices as venues for the December to January peak season.
