UMID CARDS OFSSS MEMBERS APPLIED IN MAY 2014 TO BE RELEASED THIS MONTH

SUBJECT: UMID CARDS OFSSS MEMBERS APPLIED IN MAY 2014 TO BE RELEASED THIS MONTH
Social Security System (SSS) members who applied for UMID cards in May 2014 can expect to receive their cards through mail this month, July 2014.
The delay in the production of UMID cards was due to a fingerprint database problem in the central verification system.
Normal processing time of 10 days from data capture of UMID cards will be fully restored on 24 July 2014.
Members can inquire on the production of their UMID cards through the following:
1. 24/5 SSS Call Center at 920-6446 to 55; and2. My SSS at www.sss.gov.ph.

The Israel-Hamas war raging in Gaza entered its fourth month on Sunday as the army again pounded the besieged Palestinian territory and US top diplomat Antony Blinken was back in the region seeking to avoid a wider escalation. Israeli airstrikes overnight and early Sunday killed at least 64 people in the Hamas-run Palestinian territory, said its health ministry. It said two journalists were killed when their car was struck. The ministry, medics, and witnesses identified them as Mustafa Thuria, a video stringer for Agence France-Presse, and Hamza Wael Dahdouh, the son of Al Jazeera's bureau chief in Gaza who earlier lost his wife and two other children in an Israeli strike.
