OFW raped, impregnated in Kuwait returns home

An overseas Filipino worker who became pregnant after she was allegedly raped in Kuwait returned to her home province of Iloilo last weekend.

The 32-year-old OFW worked as a domestic helper in Kuwait but had to return home after her ordeal, GMA Iloilo's Enrico Surita Jr. reported.

"May nagtakip sa aking ilong at baba at nawalan ako ng malay. Hindi ko na alam kung sino ay may gawa sa akin dahil hindi ko nakita," she said.

She managed to return home with the help of her employer. She is now seven months pregnant, the report said.

Her husband initially had difficulty accepting her condition but has since been more understanding.

"Doon pa lang handa na ako sa pagtanggap sa kanya, hindi niya naman ginusto ang nangyari. Hindi niya naman sadya ang nangyari kaya tanggap ko pa rin siya," he said.

Meanwhile, the couple is mulling pursuing legal action against the agency that deployed her as it allegedly did not help her while she was in Kuwait.  Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
