Police identify suspects in killing of vacationing OFW in bar brawl

Police have identified the suspects in the killing of a vacationing OFW during a brawl outside a Quezon City bar over the weekend, a report by GMA News' Cesar Apolinario on "24 Oras" said Tuesday.
The report said the main suspect,  Fritz Mohamed, was identified through the help of footage from CCTV cameras in the area.
Three other suspects — Cyril Rada, Earl Grande and one alias Jammil — were also identified, the report said. Six more companions — two male and four female — have yet to be identified.
Police investigators were able to secure a group photo of the suspects inside the bar, the report said.
"All of them could be considered as suspects on this murder case," Quezon City Police District chief Senior Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar said.
The suspects are facing murder charges for the killing of Abigail Gino Basas and frustrated murder for inflicting serious injuries on Basas' companion, Lloyd Melvin Lizondra, who is currently recuperating in a hospital.
According to the report, the brawl started when Basas, a photographer in a cruise ship, accidently bumped Mohamed while on his way out of the bar on Saturday night.
"Simpleng sagian na nag-resulta dun sa bugbugan. Mga lasing. Hindi natin masigurado kung sinadya bang banggain nung victim yung suspect. But definitely, itong suspect, ang tingin niya, binangga siya," Eleazar said.
Mohamed was then seen on CCTV telling his friends about the incident, prompting them to chase the victim and his companion who were then already at the bar's parking lot.
"Makita natin dito ngayon, yung grupo nila (Mohamed), sila actually yung sumugod doon sa crime scene," said Eleazar.
Eleazar has appealed to witnesses to come forward to shed light on the incident. Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
