Pinoy couple back in RP after losing deportation battle in Japan

MANILA, Philippines - The Filipino couple who was deported by Japan for allegedly using fake passports during the early 90's has arrived in the Philippines.

Radio dzBB's Lito Laparan reported that the Calderon couple, Arlan, 36, Sarah, 38, arrived on board flight JL 745 from Narita Airport in Japan. They landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 10 p.m Monday evening.

Meanwhile, their 13-year-old daughter, Noriko, was allowed by the Japanese government to stay in Japan. Noriko was born and raised in Japan and is currently a junior high school in Warabi, Saitama Prefecture.

The report said the girl was placed under the care of relatives.

As of posting time, the couple is still staying at the airport’s lobby and has yet to release their official statement.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs spokesman Ed Malaya was quoted as saying that they would monitor Noriko and assist her with her needs. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
