Pinoy engineer wins Dh1-M jackpot in UAE


A Filipino engineer in Dubai has become instant millionaire after winning Dh1 million (roughly P13 million) in a promotional grand raffle draw.
"I prayed to win… and I did," Al Dizon Bansil told Gulf News, noting that winning the grand raffle draw of the Al Ansari Rewards – Summer Promotion 2017 is "a chance of a lifetime."
The Gulf News report said Bansil, 43, is working as a quantity surveyor who has been in the United Arab Emirates for 11 years.
It also said Bansil's winning raffle ticket came from a remittance of Dh3,677 sent to his wife in Pampanga.
A father of one, reportedly plans to go home for a short vacation in the Philippines to celebrate the win with his family.
The annual promotion of Al Ansari Exchange ran from June 15 to August 14.
Aside from Bansil, another Filipino, Sylvia Lizardo Valdez, also got lucky when she won a brand new Nissan Patrol at the gala ceremony in Dubai, the Gulf News report said. —KBK, GMA News
