DFA: Passport appointments on Nov. 13-15 to be accommodated Nov. 16-29

Filipinos with passport application or renewal appointments on special non-working days November 13 to 15 need not reschedule their physical appearance at the Department of Foreign Affairs' (DFA) designated offices.
According to a report by GMA News' JP Soriano on News To Go, the DFA's consular offices will accommodate from November 16 to 29 those whose original appointments will be canceled, as government offices will be closed on the 13th, 14th and 15th due to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
First-time or renewal applicants may show up at the DFA Aseana office and the agency's consular offices at the same scheduled time of their original appointment.
DFA  Aseana will be open on November 18, Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but passport processing transactions on that day will cost P1,200.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano apologized to the public for any inconvenience.
"Again, kung may mga inconveniences, pasensya na po kayo. We're working hard to deliver the services that you deserve, which is fast and efficient," he said.
Passport applications completed starting January 1, 2018 will yield passports valid for 10 years, according to the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Philippine Passport Act.
The ASEAN-related activities will include land transit of the delegates from Clark, Pampanga, to hotels and venues in Metro Manila, where some of the summit's events are scheduled to take place. —Nicole-Anne Lagrimas/KBK, GMA News
