DFA cautions applicants on fake visa assistance

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul, South Korea has warned all tourists to be wary of people who offer fake visa assistance.
In an advisory released by Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the agency said fake visa services are being advertised on Facebook.
The said bogus act promises hopeful applicants to issue visas granting them to legally work and live in South Korea.
DFA has cleared that such assistance are usually offered for “free” or with a small amount of “attorney’s fee.”
The agency also reiterated that Korea Immigration Services (KIS) is not accepting visa applications from irregular and undocumented migrants.
“Members of the Filipino community are encouraged to advise kababayans not to entertain these schemes, nor spread these in social media,” said DFA.
“Please note that there is no such service allowed by Korean authorities.”
