DFA adopts new GAD agenda --- Pia Lee-Brago - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has adopted its new Gender and Development (GAD) agenda for inclusive and gender-responsive programs. In celebration of National Women’s Month, GAD Focal Point System Agency head and Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo signed the GAD Agenda for 2023 to 2028 on Wednesday. Manalo said the GAD agenda is the strategic framework and plan on gender mainstreaming, which serves as the DFA’s basis for identifying and implementing priority programs, activities and projects to achieve its goals during the six-year period. “As a lead proponent of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women and related international instruments, the Philippines has used and will continue to use its voice to break down barriers and ensure women’s full participation in all aspects of life,” he said. Manalo reiterated the DFA’s commitment toward a more resilient, responsive and inclusive foreign service where women and men equally contribute to and benefit from the achievement of development goals, and enjoy their human rights.
