The three remaining Filipino crew members of a seized Portuguese-flagged vessel in the Strait of Hormuz last April have been freed The three remaining Filipino crew members of a seized Portuguese-flagged vessel in the Strait of Hormuz last April have been freed by Iranian authorities, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced on Saturday. “Ang magandang ulat dito, hindi lang namin inanunsiyo pero quietly iyong tatlo na natira doon sa MSC Aries, that was seized by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard sa Strait of Hormuz ay nakauwi na – nakauwi na silang tatlo,” DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac said at the Saturday News Forum. “Iyong tatlo nakauwi kamakailan lamang…noong mga Huwebes,” he added. On April 13, Iranian authorities seized Portuguese-flagged MSC Aries while traversing the Strait of Hormuz, near the Gulf of Oman. Irad had claimed that the container ship had Israeli links when it was taken, in parallel to Iranian forces launching a mass drone attack against Israel. The vessel had a total of 25 crew members, of which four were Filipinos. Last May, Iran freed one Filipino crew member of the MSC Aries. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
