Recognizing our Modern Day Heroes, most especially, those that are deserving to be emulated by others is an important action we can do to create a positive outlook and outcome for our society.

Outstanding OFW and Balikbayan Reputation Award (OBRA) performs this function. Now on its 4th year it has recognize and give the proper attention to our deserving modern day heroes.

The Outstanding OFW and Balikbayan Reputation Award is now on its 4th year. The award aims to recognize outstanding OFWs and Balikbayans on 6 different Categories. There will be  two (2) awardees in each category. The event aims of promoting the positive impact of OFWs and Balikbayan on our society.

The event also aims to highlight OFW/Balikbayan  models that our other OFWs and Balikbayan can emulate in this time and environment where a lot of us are seeking for inspirations and directions to make our life meaningful.

OBJECTIVES:

1. To recognize OFWs and Balikbayans that have upheld the highest reputation as individuals and deserved to be emulated by others as good examples;

2. To showcase good and inspiring examples to other OFWs, Balikbayans, and the Filipino society as a whole.

RATIONALE:

Reputation according to Merriam and Webster Dictionary is an overall quality or character as seen or judged by people in general.

The OFWs and Balikbayans are our modern heroes who have sacrificed to give a quality life to their family, in so doing, gave a quality of life to our country.

To be an OFW or a Balikbayan is a difficult situation. It is difficult to be successful, at the same time, maintain a good reputation. OFWs and Balikbayans who have maintained good reputation make their families and the country proud.

They make us as a collective group shine to the rest of the world.

It is with deep respect that we recognize these heroes and gave birth to theOutstanding OFW and Balikbayan Reputation Award (OBRA).

Yes, OBRA is the good reputation upheld by some of our select modern day heroes - a timeless masterpiece that will serve as an inspiration to others and reverberate to our collective soul as a proud nation.

AWARD CATEGORIES:

OUTSTANDING ENTREPRENEUR

The recognition is given to OFW and Balikbayans who have successfully built business in the country.

OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY BUILDER

The recognition is given to OFWs and Balikbayans who have been actively contributing and helping their community and society in a positive way.

OUTSTANDING POSITIVE CHARACTER/DEED

The recognition is given to OFWs and Balikbayans who have displayed positive character and deed while outside of the country.

OUTSTANDING FAMILY BUILDER

The recognition is given to OFWs and Balikbayans who have successfully built a good Filipino Family.

OUTSTANDING WORK ETHIC

The recognition is given to OFWs and Balikbayans recognize by the companies they are working with while they are outside the country.

OUTSTANDING FILIPINO BLOGGER FOR OFW

The recognition is given to anyone who write blogs and promote OFW’s good deeds,success stories, better living and conditions.

Before we end, let us inform you that OBRA to date has 30 Awardees. These Awardees have wonderful and inspiring stories. Some of these awardees profess that it was their first time to be recognized in OBRA for their actions and deeds. Although they are not asking for it but the smile and tears coming from them says it all.

We need you to show them that we appreciate them. We need you to continue this advocacy.
