SPAIN – The move of the Philippine Embassy in Madrid to reduce by 10% its fees for all consular services was a welcome treat for Filipinos.
“Syempre naman po masaya kami. Malaking advantage na rin yun sa amin,” said Ruth Lican.
The new fees were implemented on October 1.
From 60 euros, the issuance of passport is now down to 54 euros. Meanwhile, the old fee of 120 euros for a multiple entry visa is now only at 81 euros.
“Ang palitan ng euro malakas as against the dollar and also because we have to assist our Filipino members,” said Consul General Catalino Dilem Jr.
Fees for notarial services like the solemnization of marriage, translations and legalization of documents and report of birth and dual citizenship, were likewise decreased.
“Nakakatuwa po dito sa embahada ng Pilipinas dito sa Spain kasi naghahanap sila ng paraan para kami ay matulungan,” said another OFW, Mary Jane Monte. Report from Dianne Malonzo, ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau
