THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation recently joined the 2012 Kabisig National Government Expo at the Events Center, SM Fairview, Quezon City. The expo is also a part of the 112th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary activities.
With this year's theme "Kapit-bisig sa Matuwid na Daan: Gabay sa Kaunlaran",the expo is a one-stop information exhibit, a good venue for the people to avail the services of the participating government agencies. It was participated by twenty four different government agencies who showcased their services and products to the event visitors.

Dr. Eduardo P. Banzon, PhilHealth President and CEO said that, "PhilHealth works hard to achieve the universal health care to all Filipinos. To attain our goal, we should be where our members are. We need to bring our services closer to the people. Hence, supporting the Kabisig Expo is one way to delight our members".An exhibit and info booth was set up by the Corporation through the Corporate Communications Department and NCR Central Branch to provide information to the participants of the expo. A total of 1,349 PhilHealth members were given their PhilHealth Identification Number Cards and Member Data Records. The booth also accepted new members' application. PhilHealth also conducted an orientation on the National Health Insurance Program.

STAR / Michael Varcas MANILA, Philippines — While Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) have decreased in number, they have maintained a presence in three key land features where naval and coast guard ships have intensified operations in the past seven days, according to the Philippine Navy. Latest monitoring by the Philippine Navy showed armed ships of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) maintaining a menacing presence around the grounded BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal, Panatag Shoal and Escoda Shoal. MANILA, Philippines — Letting China sustain its aggression in the West Philippine Sea would make other countries doubt the strength of international law currently being asserted by the Philippines, Commodore Jay Tarriela of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said. “Allowing China to blatantly disregard the established rules-based order threatens the very foundation that we all depend on,” he wrote in a post on X last Tuesday.
