PHL embassy in US to allow voter registration at Asian Festival on Sept. 13-14
Filipinos in the United States who want to register for the May 2016 elections may get their chance this weekend at the upcoming Asian Festival at the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C.
The embassy, in a post on its website, said the 11th Asian Festival will be held at the Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, Maryland.
"Registrants should appear in person for the capture of biometric information and bring their Philippine passport, Identification Certificate (for dual citizens), or, in their absence, documents that would warrant the issuance of a Philippine passport (birth certificate, etc.)," it said.
It said qualified overseas voters include all citizens of the Philippines who are abroad or will be abroad during the voting period. They should be at least 18 years old on the day of the elections, and not otherwise disqualified by law. —Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News
