158 Pinoys rescued from sunken boat off Sabah

Over 150 Filipinos were rescued after their wooden ferry boat sank off Bum-Bum island in Semporna, Sabah, on Wednesday afternoon, according to reports reaching the military's Western Mindanao Command.
Wesmincom spokesperson Maj. Filemon Tan said 12 of the 158 rescued Filipinos suffered injuries and were brought to Semporna Hospital for treatment.
"So far, no info of death was reported," Tan said.
Citing information from Malaysian military, Tan said the ferry boat MV Juhari sank about 2:30 on Wednesday after hitting a barge.
The Malaysian-owned and -registered boat was en route to Semporna from Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, Tan said. —KBK, GMA News
