75k overseas Pinoys to cast votes in May through mail

Thousands of Filipinos living and working overseas may join the May 2016 elections through postal voting.
The Commission on Elections said a total of 75,363 voters will use postal voting in the coming national elections.
A total of 26 embassies from three regions will send to voters through mail official ballots, which will be filled up and sent back by the Filipinos before a deadline that will be set by the poll body.

  • Abuja
  • Amman
  • Cairo
  • Muscat
  • Nairobi
  • Pretoria
  • Tehran
Meanwhile, the Comelec said a total of 56,969 voters for the Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) from 30 posts from Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Middle East regions will adopt automated election system by using the Voter Counting Machines.
The OAV can only vote for candidates in the positions of President, Vice President, Senators and Party-List group.
The OAV will start April 9 until 3 p.m. of May 9 (Philippine time) and the counting of votes will commence as soon as the posts have closed. —ALG, GMA News
