Mary Jane Veloso’s kin to fly to Indonesia for her birthday

The parents and children of Mary Jane Veloso, the overseas Filipino worker on death row in Indonesia, on Monday were excited while waiting for their flight so they could soon be with her to celebrate her birthday, a report on Unang Balita by Isay Reyes on Monday said.
Mary Jane turned 31 on Sunday.
Family members were hopeful about their trip, and they said they consider this Mary Jane's second life after she was spared from execution in April last year for drug charges.
They were accompanied at the airport by their lawyers, representatives of the OFW group Migrante, and two representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The family has brought gifts for Mary Jane, including those she asked for.
Mary Jane's mother Celia Veloso said she is hoping the case of her daughter will proceed faster.
She said they wept when reports came out recently that Mary Jane is among those to be executed next. They were grateful to God, she said, when they learned this was not true.
Family members said they are hoping that Mary Jane can be with them in the Philippines on her next birthday in 2017. —KG, GMA News
