3 Pinoys among 44 terror suspects arrested in Saudi –report

Three Filipinos were among the dozens of terrorism suspects arrested in Saudi Arabia during a series of operations last month, an online report said.
The report on Arab News said 44 suspects, including the three Filipinos, were arrested in the operations conducted by Saudi special authorities on December 23 to 31, 2015.
Also arrested were five Syrians, four Yemenis, a Sudanese and 31 Saudi nationals, the report said.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), meanwhile, said it is still verifying the report.
"We are verifying this," said DFA spokesperson Charles Jose at a press briefing on Wednesday.
He said the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia has yet to receive such information from the Saudi government.
"Initial feedback from embassy wala natatanggap na information from Saudi government official about this pero patuloy na aalamin ng embassy kung totoo 'yung report na ito," Jose said.
The Arab News report said the largest number of arrests were made on the first day of the operation, with 10 Saudis and one Yemeni being arrested. —with Michaela del Callar/KBK, GMA News
