US Embassy in Manila to close on January 18

The US Embassy in Manila and its affiliated offices will be closed to the public on Monday, January 18, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, an American holiday.
In a statement, the embassy said it will resume its operations on Tuesday, January 19.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968), who is remembered in the United States on the third Monday of January each year, is best known as America’s chief spokesman for nonviolent activism as a result of his leadership role in the US civil rights movement. — APG, GMA News
