Pinoy wins photo contest in Milan

A Filipino photography hobbyist has won in a photo contest in Milan, Italy, besting over a dozen contestants from nine other countries.
Marvin Gale Nolasco, who works as a receptionist in Milan, won for his photo showing a Filipino family enjoying their favorite TV program at home.
"I am so proud to be a FILIPINO," Nolasco said on Facebook after learning of his victory.
The theme of the photo contest, which ran from September to November last year and was part of a workshop conducted by noted Italian photographers, was family and community.
Eighteen contestants from nine countries joined the photography workshop and contest called "Ri-Scatti, Milano Melting Pot."
"As a Filipino my only desire is that one day  I may be able to serve my country in anyway I can... and now after winning this contest of Photography here in Milan with 9 countries participants with 18 contestants... I made my way to gain FIRST PLACE and I'm not claiming all the glory of winning but i dedicated this not only to family but to our beloved country PHILIPPINES," Nolasco said on Facebook.
Nolasco's prize was a one-year contract for a intensive photography workshop that will be attended by professionals. —KBK, GMA News
