NBI result of reautopsy on OFW killed in Kuwait could be out this week — Bello
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III on Wednesday said the result of the reautopsy on the body of Filipina domestic worker Constancia Dayag could be released this week.
In an ambush interview, Bello said if the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)'s autopsy report would indicate that there is foul play on the incident, the government could impose a deployment ban to Kuwait.
"Anytime this week, lalabas na 'yan. Kung merong foul play at hindi gumawa ng tamang aksyon ang Kuwaiti government, that could be a possible option..." Bello said.
"Pero mukha namang they are trying to recoup in their initial inaction," Bello added.
According to Bello, he cannot say yet if Dayag was a "victim of maltreatment."
"Hindi ko sinasabi na OFW Dayag is a victim of maltreatment kasi we are still awaiting the result of autopsy report that is being conducted by our NBI. Mayroong autopsy report ang Kuwaiti report but I don't have to rely on that," Bello said.
Earlier, DOLE revealed that Dayag died after suffering hemotoma and concussions. Reports indicated that she was also sexually abused.
