Convenient ride for arriving balikbayans and tourists at NAIA

Balikbayans and foreign tourists taking the airport taxis upon arrival in the country will be treated to a more convenient welcome through a partnership between the Airport Transport Concessionaires Association, Inc. and Globe Telecoms.

Globe and ATCAI entered into a merchandising partnership to bring unique services to balikbayans and foreign tourists who will be taking airport taxis.

ATCAI is a group of authorized and accredited transport service concessionaires at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport categorized into Tourist Coupon Transport Services, Rent-a-Car Services and the Department of Tourism (DOT)-Metered Taxis. It was established and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in August 2005.

Taking the ATCAI vehicles is much safer than the standard taxis that usually circle the airport because ATCAI taxis are supervised by the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and the Department of Tourism (DOT), a press statement from Globe said.

“The location of airport taxis can be tracked at all times by their central office. What’s more, drivers are trained to properly interact with foreigners. Also, in cases where some items are left in the vehicle, ATCAI assures the public that it can be retrieved in their office as honesty and integrity are values deeply espoused by their employees," the Globe statement assured.

Passengers of ATCAI vehicles will also be given a Globe city map containing relevant travel information such as emergency numbers, hotel accommodations, hospitals, museums and shopping malls. The Globe city map also display the MRT and LRT route for easy reference of travelers.

Globe and ATCAI also offer rewards coupons that balikbayans and foreign tourists can use when they roam on Globe mobile phones.

The coupons entitle the consumer to avail of discounts from the following merchants provided that they show they are roaming on Globe network—30% off the Wow Manila Sakay Na! Hop On, Hop Off City Tour ticket, and 15% off any travel accessories from The Travel Club.

Consumers can also get 10% off any souvenir items from Kultura Filipino, and one day FREE workout and FREE assessment on plastic surgery, cosmetology, and physical therapy at Bodyworx Spa & Fitness Club for their health needs.

To avail of the discounts, balikbayans and foreign tourists must connect to the Globe network, by choosing ‘manual’ and selecting Globe on their mobile phone network selection settings. - GMANews.TV
