Lone Pinoy in earthquake-struck area in Indonesia is safe, says DFA


The only Filipino living in the area struck by an earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia is safe, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Saturday.
Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Leehiong T. Wee said the Filipino is currently at the Lapas Penitentiary serving his sentence, according to a statement of the DFA.
More than 400 were killed after a magnitude 7.5 earthquake and a tsunami struck the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. 
The waves were as high as six meters, and many were swept away.
The Philippines expressed its condolences to Indonesia and said it is ready to help the country. —KG, GMA News
