Filipinos in Israel urged to remain vigilant, take safety precautions

Filipinos in Israel have been advised to remain vigilant and take safety precautions amid the  security situation in the country.
According to a report on Super Radyo dzBB's Mao dela Cruz on Saturday, the Philippine Embassy in Israel advised Filipinos to refrain from traveling to the West Bank, Golan Heights, and some areas of Jerusalem.
These include, among others, Temple Mount, Damascus Gate, Herods Gate, Musrara area, and surrounding areas of East Jerusalem, the report said.
Moreover, the Embassy advises Filipinos to avoid areas with large crowds and monitor news updates on developments.
Filipinos were also urged to comply with safety regulations of the Israeli special forces and to contact the Philippine Embassy when in need of assistance.
Earlier reports indicated that security situation in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories is volatile and tense, prompting the UK government to caution its citizens early this year.
The UK said, "terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including places frequented by foreigners, and on public transport." —Margaret Claire Layug/LBG, GMA News
