Strict Penalties Imposed for Housing Expat Bachelors in Kuwait 4 days ago --- ARAB TIMES

KUWAIT CITY, June 4: The Acting Director General of Kuwait Municipality Saud Al-Dabbous affirmed the municipality’s serious intention to protect the community identity and address the phenomenon of bachelors living in private and model housing areas, with the cooperation of the concerned bodies and authorities, in order to limit its negative effects, reports Al-Nahar daily. He highlighted the need for the Environment Public Authority to activate and apply the penalties stipulated in the environment law to the violators, which include a fine of KD 50,000 for housing bachelors who violate the environmental requirements according to the environmental protection law. Al-Dabbous added that the penalties and sanctions that will be applied against the owners of the violating companies include closing the files of the sponsors of workers in violation of the laws of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) in the chapter on occupational safety and labor law. In a press statement issued on Thursday after chairing a meeting by the Bachelors Committee with the participation of representatives of government agencies, he explained that the file of violation of Decree Law No. 125/1992 regarding prohibiting the housing of non-families in private and model housing will be under the microscope of Kuwait Municipality with the cooperation of all concerned agencies and bodies during the next stage. The recommendations of the Bachelors Committee focused on maintaining infrastructure services, limiting damages, and tampering with electrical networks, rain and sewage networks in order to protect lives and public property. Imposition Al-Dabbous stressed the need for the imposition of the prestige of the law, adding that electricity will not be restored until the electrical plans are adhered to and matched with reality, as well as other infrastructure services through a specific work mechanism to adhere to the legal deadlines and speed up the documentary cycle through electronic communication. Meanwhile , during the weekend, the field security sectors of the Ministry of Interior carried out several sudden security campaigns in all parts of the country, and increased the rate of night security deployment in all areas to the maximum degree, with the aim of imposing the prestige of the law, arresting violators, wanted individuals, drug dealers and drug users, and limiting violations, and aggressive and reckless driving, reports Al-Qabas daily. These campaigns resulted in the arrest of 150 violators of the residency law, dozens of wanted persons, three individuals in possession of narcotic substances and alcoholic beverages, six absconders, and 20 individuals on charges of immoral acts, as well as the issuance of citations for 140 various traffic violations. According to informed security sources, the security deployment process varied between foot patrol officers and checkpoint officers, as well as officers inspecting some places to arrest violators of the residency and labor laws. The roles of the Traffic Operations Sector, the Public Security Sector, the Criminal Security Sector, and the Residence Affairs Sector represented by the General Administration of Residence Affairs Investigation emerged in the huge deployment which lasted for three days. The security officers carried out the deployment process from 10:30 pm until the early hours of next morning. The increase in the security deployment in Hawally area and the expansion of security campaigns on its streets led by Captain Hussein Kamal and First Lieutenant Saud Al- Jalal, had succeeded in issuing many citations over traffic violations, and reducing aggressive and reckless driving.
