Filipinos urged to leave Sudan while flights still available ---- By GMA Integrated News

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) exhorted Filipinos to leave Sudan amid the warning of the United Nations that the country is on the brink of a "full scale civil war." "Please, habang may kuryente pa, habang may flights pa, habang may internet pa," DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega said on a "24 Oras" report by Sandra Aguinaldo. "Puwede pa. May chance pa. Get ready, get your savings, go to Port Sudan and we will arrange your flights," De Vega added. At least 100 Filipinos are still in the conflict-torn area, including the 30 individuals waiting in the Port of Sudan for their flights. Around 700 Filipinos have been earlier repatriated to the Philippines. The DFA said those who want to evacuate may leave through the Port of Sudan or through Egypt after coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Cairo.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
