Bataan to pay hospital bills of non-PhilHealth members - Bataan gov
CITY OF BALANGA, Bataan, Sept 14 (PIA) -- Bataan will be enforcing a new health program where the Bataan government will shoulder the hospital bills of non-PhilHealth members, said Governor Enrique Garcia as he celebrated his 72nd birthday celebration yesterday.
He promised that he will devote “every waking moment” of his life to implement his new programs for the poor.
Garcia, who suffered a heart stroke last year, said that aside from the No Balance Billing Program in which a PhilHealth member in the province will not pay “extra fees” in public hospitals, a new program will be enforced shouldering the hospital bills of non-PhilHealth members.
“If you don’t have PhilHealth because of extreme poverty, the province of Bataan will pay all your hospital bills even if it reaches one million. Because here, the poorest are number one,” he said.
The provincial government, he added, will also implement next month a new anti-illegal logging scheme in which pilotless drones or robots will fly over Bataan forests at regular intervals for patrolling.
“In coordination with DENR and the Air Force of the Philippines, we are going to air-drop paratroopers to retrieve cut logs to remove the profit motivation of the illegal loggers; at the same time apprehend them and bring them to justice,” said Garcia. (CLJD/JMG-PIA3)
