11 out of 110 Pinoy examinees from Riyadh qualify for OWWA scholarship
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh said 11 out of the 110 examinees passed the Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration’s (OWWA’s) Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) examination.
In a news release on Thursday, the embassy said the exam was conducted by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Riyadh together with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) last December 2 at the Elite International School.
Nine of the new scholars are from Saudi Arabia while two are from Bahrain.
The new scholars for schoolyear 2013–2014 are:
1. Azura, Kenneth Jayson Rivero
2. Borromeo, Jaime Algara
3. Ganzon, Raiza Almonte
4. Garcia, Carlos Emmanuel Pasaui
5. Mendoza, Jianne Alyza G.
6. Mojica, Harriette Chavez
7. Molina, Abegail Joy Herrera
8. Pineda, Vemeni Grace Guardiana
9. Poquiz, Dominador III Balagan
10. Ramos, Camille Antonette A.
11. Ruiz, Ana Teresa Santos
The EDSP is a scholarship program for qualified dependents of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) consisting of a maximum P60,000.00 financial assistance per scholar per school year, leading to a four-to-five year baccalaureate course in any college or university.
Scholars can enroll in any college or university of their choice and can choose any course they wish to take. - VVP, GMA News
