DFA: No Pinoys among casualties in magnitude-7.8 Iran quake
No Filipinos were among the casualties in a magnitude-7.8 quake that shook Iran and the United Arab Emirates late Tuesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.
On his Twitter account, DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez said, "Based on initial reports from (Philippine) embassies in Tehran and Abu Dhabi, (there were) NO reports of Filipino casualties in the (magnitude) 7.8 earthquake in Iran."
The strong quake hit southeast Iran border with Pakistan, with several people feared killed.
The quake was also felt in India and the UAE.
In the UAE, Khaleej Times reported authorities urged residents not to panic in thee wake of strong tremors.
