Pinoys in parts of Thailand reminded to remain vigilant even after state of emergency lifted
While Thailand has lifted an emergency decree in some areas there this week, Filipinos based there were advised to remain vigilant and to avoid large crowds and demonstrations.
The Philippine embassy in Bangkok said in a post on its website early Thursday that political demonstrations are still being held in parts of the country.
"Although the Royal Thai Government has lifted the emergency decree in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Lad Lum Kaew and Bang Phli districts in the Provinces of Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan, respectively, political demonstrations continue to be held," it said in its post dated April 2.
It advised Filipinos with essential travel plans to, and those residing in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand, to "exercise extra vigilance" and observe safety precautions.
