Mocha to Sen. Villanueva: Kulang na lang sabihin na nandidiri kayo sa akin

Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson on Wednesday expressed disappointment over Senator Joel Villanueva’s remarks on the distinction they both received from the University of Santo Tomas Alumni Association.
In a Facebook post, Mocha said that Villanueva's remark just fell short of saying he was “disgusted” with her.
“Sen Joel Villanueva hinahangaan pa naman kita kasi anak ka ng isang ginagalang kong Pastor. Nakalimutan mo ata na ang ating Panginoong Hesus mismo ang kasama niya ay ang mga nagkamali sa lipunan o mga makasalanan,” Uson wrote.
She was referring to Eddie Villanueva, the leader of the Christian group Jesus is Lord Church Worldwide.
“Pero kayo kulang nalang sabihin niyo na nandidiri kayo sa akin. 'Wag kang mag-alala someday magkikita uli tayo…” Uson wrote, but did not elaborate.
Uson attached to her post a screenshot of an earlier report on Villanueva’s reaction upon learning the criteria for the Thomasian Alumni Award for Government Service from the UST Alumni Association, and one of a biblical verse about Jesus Christ dining with “tax collectors and sinners.”
She was reacting to Villanueva’s remark that he would have thought twice about accepting the award had he known that Uson was also a recipient.
“Pag-iisipan kong mabuti ‘yun,” the Senator had said.
Uson received last Sunday, January 21, the alumni award. The university’s student council and some alumni criticized the awarding, with some recipients indicating plans to return their own awards.
In response, Uson said, “PAALALA: Ang amplaya ay kinakain hindi inuugali.”
Same award was also given to the following UST alumni in government service:
  • Senator Joel Villanueva
  • Representative Jose Atienza Jr.
  • Senate Secretary General Lutgardo Barbo
  • Representative Joaquin Chipeco Jr.
  • National Labor Relations Commissioner Mary Ann Plata-Daytia
