DFA condoles with kin of OFW who died in Slovakia

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday expressed its sympathies to the family of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who died days after being beaten up in Bratislava, Slovakia last month.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of our kababayan, Henry John Acorda. We mourn the loss of another of our own who by all accounts is a hero who came to the rescue of the defenseless in a land that is not even his," DFA Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said in a statement.
"We give our assurance to Henry's family that we will do everything to make sure that those responsible for his death are brought to justice," Cayetano added.
The Philippine Embassy in Vienna has reported that Acorda, 36, died on May 31 at the University Hospital Ruzjnov due to injuries he had sustained after he was attacked by two men last May 26.
Authorities said Acorda was trying to defend two women who were allegedly harassed by the suspects.
A 28-year-old man was already nabbed and charged with manslaughter.
Meanwhile, the Embassy will be assisting Acorda's family in preparing for the repatriation of the victim's remains
