TOP BOC OFFICIAL FIRED BY: DUTERTE

President Rodrigo duterte fired a top official of the bureau of customs
for alleged numerous travel abroad and for allowing to issue manuel alert
orders to at least 105 misdeclared container vans worth P69 million at the
Asian terminal Inc .,(ATI) in manila.
In a
speech during the destruction of smuggled motorcycles at the port of manila,
the president unceremoniously fireddeputy commissioner noel Patrick sales
prudente infront of customs officials and employees.
Prudente was former director of the phillippine national railways (PNR)
before being appointed to the BOC.
‘‘I
will cut short the agony of congress. I’m firing him today,noel Patrick sales
prudente,’’the president said.
The
chief executive did not explain the reason why he fired prudente ,but a customs
official who requested anonymity said the BOC depcom was sacked due to his
numerous travels abroad.
In a
piece of paper the president was reading,he read, ‘’personal travel to
Singapore ,personal travel to europe’’.
Prudente also get the ire of lawmakers for
his scanty response with regards to the illegal release of 105 shipping
containers from the premises of manila south harbor’s port opera tor ATI which
were placed under manual alert orders.
The
shipments from china were released by ATI allegedly without an order from the
office of the commissioner.
The
president repeatedly warned government of ficials from traveling abroad and dot
their job here. Before duterte sacked marcial amaro lll as administrator of the
maritime industry authority (MARINA) over excessive foreign trips and former
presidential commission for the urban poor chair terry ridon over ‘’un
necessary trips’’
DPWH
LAUNCHES JOB,JOB,JOB PORTAL
The
department of public works and highways (DPWH) launched a job portal that will
consolidate job opportunities under the government’s build build build
program,where at least 11,000 jobs have been posted.
Public works secretary mark villar said the online jobs site was aimed
to merge all employment opportunities from all concessionaires and construction
companies involved in the government’s flagship infrastructure program.
‘’the
‘’jobs,jobs,jobs,’’ portal will serve as
a job matching platform between potential employers and employess as the
government moves to complement its ‘’build,build build’’ infrastructure
initiatives with more job opportunities for Filipinos’’ villar said.
‘’the
new portal will enhance our goal of reaching Filipinos here and abroad to join
the government’s infrastructure push’’ transport secretary Arthur tugade said.
The
online portal aims to create more jobs for Filipinos,address the demand for workers
to ensure fast and timely delivery of BBB projects, encourage returning
overseas Filipino workers to remain in the country and encourage more OFWs to
return home.
