Complete hepatitis vaccination a must for maids, nannies in UAE

The Ministry of Health in the United Arab Emirates reminded foreign domestic workers about the need to complete vaccinations against hepatitis.

According to a report of the news site Emirates 24/7 on Thursday, the workers covered in the vaccination program issued in 2010 face trouble if they cannot present a certificate to prove that they have completed all three doses of Hepatitis B vaccination.

The report said the expat workers covered under the vaccination plan include nannies, housekeepers, preschool supervisors, as well as workers in salons, health clubs, and nutrition clinics.

Vaccine certificates show the dates when the three doses of Hepatitis B vaccine were administered.

The report said the first dose is administered upon medical examination, the second, a month later and the final dose, six months after the second dose. - VVP, GMA News
