Pinay nurse found dead in NJ; boyfriend arrested

A Filipina nurse was found dead by the roadside last week in New Jersey with multiple stab wounds in her body, an online report said Sunday.

The report on Courier Post Online said the body of 41-year-old Jennifer Bongco was found at Erial and Wiltons Landing Road in Winslow Township, New Jersey, by a pizza deliveryman on the wee hours of Friday.

The victim's boyfriend, identified as Kevin Ambrose, 52, was arrested in Atlantic on the same day as a suspect in the killing, the report said.

The murder was reportedly witnessed by Bongco's five-year-old daughter Jessica Frantes.

Citing information from the police, the report said Ambrose picked Bongco up at work on Friday morning, with Jessica in the back seat.

Jessica reportedly told the police that she saw her mom and Ambrose arguing while inside the car. She was quoted as saying that she saw Ambrose "hitting mommy."

One of Bongco's friends told police she saw Ambrose drop Jessica off at the victim's house. Jessica's 19-year-old sister Maria, who opened the door, said her sister was covered in blood.

It is still not clear why Bongco was killed.

The Courier Post Online said Bongco earned her nursing degree in the Philippines, before coming to the United States with Santos in the early 2000s. —KBK, GMA News
