The Philippines and Dubai have explored tourism opportunities of both countries.
Philippine Consul General in Dubai Paul Raymund Cortes and Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce
and Tourism Development Authority Sheik Khalid Al Midfa, discussed opportunities to strengthen the
partnership between the Philippines and the Emirate of Sharjah in terms of tourism.

Both parties explored possibilities of a joint tourism campaign between the Philippines and
Sharjah.

They discussed cultural diplomacy partnerships to highlight culture and the arts, and more
active Filipino Community engagements in Sharjah.

Though the Filipino community had previously participated in the Sharjah International Book
Fair which is held twice a year, one in April and another in November, Filipinos in Sharjah are
encouraged to participate in the emirate’s other activities throughout the year.
