Pinay reported missing in Syria; family worried

Another OFW has been reported missing, this time in Syria, GMA News' Victoria Tulad reported on Balitanghali on Monday.
Relatives of Michelle Alfonso in the Philippines said they haven't been able to contact her for six months already.
A separate report on 24 Oras said Alfonso called her family last August to inform them that she's in Malaysia, which surprised them as Alfonso initially told them she was bound to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
After a month, the 24 Oras report said, Alfonso again called her family to inform them that she was in Syria.
The report said Alfonso's family worried for her especially considering the security situation in Syria.
"Habang tumatagal inaalala ko na baka anak ko nahihirapan ka," said Emelinda Alfonso, the missing OFW's mother. "Sana po ay nasa maganda siyang kalagayan."
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) have already been informed of Alfonso's case, the Balitanghali report said.
Meanwhile, the same Balitanghali report said 92 more Filipino workers  who availed of the amnesty in Kuwait arrived in the Philippines on Sunday night.
One of them, Jose Miraveles, who had been working in Kuwait for nine years, was included in the batch after fellow OFWs chipped in to pay his debts. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
