ACG spokesperson axed over Makati raid vlog Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

STAR / File MANILA, Philippines — The spokesperson for the police Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) was relieved from her post amid the livestreaming by vlogger Rendon Labador of a raid on an online lending company in Makati on Oct. 20. In a statement to reporters covering the Philippine National Police (PNP) yesterday, ACG director Brig. Gen. Sidney Hernia said Capt. Michelle Sabino would be doing administrative work at Camp Crame. Hernia said they are looking for Sabino’s replacement. Sabino’s ouster as the ACG mouthpiece came after Labador livestreamed on his Facebook account the raid on the lending firm accused of harassing clients who are unable to pay their loans. Labador also interviewed Sabino during his livestream. It turned out that Labador and Sabino had a collaboration for a public service initiative to help people who are victims of crimes. PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. had ordered the ACG to explain how Labador ended up joining the police operation.
