Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) can now enjoy a new and expansive lounge at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), designed to provide them with a comfortable and relaxing environment while awaiting their flights. Situated conveniently near Gate 7 in NAIA Terminal 3, the newly inaugurated lounge opened its doors to the public on Friday, July 19, marking a significant enhancement in airport amenities. The initiative was led by San Miguel Corporation and NAIA Infrastructure Corporation, spearheaded by President and CEO Ramon Ang, in collaboration with key officials including Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Eric Ines, and representatives from two Partylist groups. According to a report by The Philippine STAR, the lounge aims to elevate the airport experience for OFWs, offering a spacious and well-appointed area where they can unwind and prepare for their journeys. This development underscores ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities and services at NAIA, a vital hub catering to millions of passengers annually. During the unveiling ceremony, Ramon Ang expressed the importance of the new facility in supporting the needs of OFWs, stating, "The new lounge at NAIA Terminal 3 near Gate 7 is part of our commitment to provide enhanced facilities for our overseas Filipino workers." The lounge features comfortable seating arrangements, dedicated relaxation areas, and amenities tailored to meet the specific needs of travelers, ensuring a pleasant and stress-free experience during their transit through the airport. Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac highlighted the significance of such initiatives in bolstering the welfare and morale of OFWs, recognizing their immense contributions to the Philippine economy and the nation's development. He emphasized the government's commitment to improving airport facilities to better serve the needs of all travelers, including OFWs. The opening of the new lounge comes amidst ongoing efforts to modernize infrastructure and enhance passenger services at NAIA. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to elevate NAIA's standing as a premier international airport and to provide world-class facilities that meet the expectations of global travelers. In addition to the lounge's comfortable amenities, including seating areas and relaxation zones, it also offers services aimed at enhancing convenience and comfort for OFWs. This includes access to complimentary refreshments, internet facilities, and charging stations, allowing travelers to stay connected and relaxed while at the airport. Moving forward, officials remain committed to further improving NAIA's facilities and services, ensuring that it continues to meet the evolving needs of travelers and contributes to a positive travel experience for all passengers.
