US-China trade talks open in Beijing

Armand Garcia, who was arrested for rape, posted bail on March 5, just when most of the faithful was hopeful changes would be coming within the Catholic Church after a historic summit at the Vatican focusing on clergy abuse. According to parishioners, Garcia was well loved. DFA: Pinay hurt in vehicular accident in Kazakhstan

Published  March 27, 2019 3:12pm  A Filipina was one of the 27 injured in a multiple-vehicle collision in Kazakhstan, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday. The road accident happened on Tuesday involving three buses, two cars, and an ambulance. Two were reported dead. According to authorities, the Filipina victim identified as Jennifer Francisco Lavapiez immediately informed the Philippine Embassy in Russia of her situation through social media. "The Embassy is monitoring her situation and is coordinating with its contacts in Kazakhstan in following up with the bus company on their support for the victims of the collision," the DFA said. Art exhibit in Canada features Pinoys' works, shows experiences of migrants

Titled "Postcards Across the Pacific," the exhibit, which highlighted the strong relations between the Philippines and Canada, was unveiled to at least 200 art enthusiasts who flocked the embassy's Sentro Rizal Ottawa on March 19. Ambassador to Canada Petronila Garcia said the art exhibit "explores the experiences of migrants to Canada and the artists’ views on life as a Canadian with multicultural roots." "Through their eyes, we can appreciate how the many connections and interactions of different peoples can create beauty, foster understanding, and further strengthen relationships with each other," Garcia said. Japan to lift evacuation order in town hosting Fukushima plant
