Art exhibit in Canada features Pinoys' works, shows experiences of migrants

An art exhibit, featuring Filipino and Canadian artists, was launched at the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, Canada.
Titled "Postcards Across the Pacific," the exhibit, which highlighted the strong relations between the Philippines and Canada, was unveiled to at least 200 art enthusiasts who flocked the embassy's Sentro Rizal Ottawa on March 19.

Ambassador to Canada Petronila Garcia said the art exhibit "explores the experiences of migrants to Canada and the artists’ views on life as a Canadian with multicultural roots."
"Through their eyes, we can appreciate how the many connections and interactions of different peoples can create beauty, foster understanding, and further strengthen relationships with each other," Garcia said.
Kristina Corre, Archimedes Cruzado, Christienne Cuevas, Christiane Mayo, Teresa Rozkiewicz, and Joejene Santos are the featured artists in the exhibit. They showcased varying styles ranging from the abstract to portraiture, photorealism as well as meticulous combinations of found objects.
The exhibit will run until April 2. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LDF, GMA News
