99 percent of ballots for overseas voting in May polls now in PH posts


Almost all of the ballots for overseas voting in the May polls, 99.48 percent to be exact, have been shipped to Philippine foreign posts worldwide, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Wednesday.
Comelec Director Elaiza Sabile-David made the announcement on her Twitter account.
A total of 1.7 million ballots for overseas absentee voters were printed.  
As this developed, the poll body also issued notice to political parties, independent candidates, organizations/coalitions as well as accredited citizens' arms, Overseas Filipino Workers organizations for the May polls to submit the names and specimen signatures of their respective authorized representatives who will function as counsel or watchers in each Philippine embassies, and consulates abroad.
“These [requirements] should be submitted not later than April 3, 2019 pursuant to Section 26, Comelec Resolution No. l0489-A," Comelec said.
David also sent a copy of the said notice to Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon who functions as the Comelec commissioner-in-charge on the Office for Overseas Voting. — LDF, GMA News
