Pinoy gets 10 years for killing neighbor in Malaysia
A 54-year-old Filipino was sentenced to serve 10 years in jail Wednesday after he pleading guilty to killing a neighbor in December 2007.
Online news site Daily Express reported Friday that Ajud (Logan Bakil), the Filipino, pleaded guilty before Judge Egusra Mohd Ali.
He admitted killing Sidik Maykalan at Kampung Kurnia Jaya, Mile 4, Jalan Apas, at 5 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2007.
Court records showed that Sidik assaulted Ajud's brother-in-law in a drinking session.
Ajud, who was with the drinking group, seized Sidik’s weapon, resulting in a heated argument.
Sidik's mother tried to break the argument and Ajud ran away, but Sidik chased him with an ax.
Ajud managed to get a knife from a neighbor's house. The two squared off at a parking area, but the Sidik's mother restrained her son.
Ajud then stabbed Sidik three times in the stomach, rib and left armpit, killing him.
Ajud threw away the knife under Jambatan Satu and fled to Batu 15, Kampung Wakuba.
