Egyptian faces UAE court for allegedly raping two Pinays

An Egyptian man faced a court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this week over allegations he raped two Filipinas at knifepoint after they had coffee at his house.

However, the man, 29, entered a "not guilty" plea as he also belied allegations he threatened to have the two women gang-raped by his friends, a report of Gulf News said.

The judge denied the Egyptian bail.

Court records showed the Egyptian met one of the two victims, 27, over a social media network and invited her out for coffee. The woman brought her 25-year-old friend with her.

However, after having coffee at his house, the Egyptian allegedly raped the two of them at knifepoint. It was only when he went to the washroom that the women ran away.

The supposed incident occurred at the Egyptian's flat in International City on September 19 last year.

Victim's testimony

In her testimony, the Filipina employee said the suspect claimed to be a Brazilian named Kylo when she met him over a social network last September 17.

“He asked me out for coffee. I took my friend with me and he picked us up and took us to his flat. When we finished having coffee he claimed that he wanted to sleep and said he would drop us home in the morning. We stood up and went towards the door wanting to leave when he … he picked up a knife and stopped us," she said.

She said he "asked to have sex with both of us otherwise he would bring his friends to rape us."

"We felt scared and had to yield to his threats. When he went to the bathroom, we dressed up and ran away,” she said.

Her 25-year-old friend corroborated her statement, saying the Egyptian pointed the knife at her stomach when he asked to have sex with them. - VVP, GMA News
