Filipinas with children in Saudi Arabia who need to be repatriated have until July 7, Sunday, to have their documentation processed, the Philippine embassy in the Kingdom said Tuesday.

The embassy made it clear the Filipina mothers with children are not included in the extension granted by the Saudi government to Filipinos to correct their status or leave the Kingdom.

"The Embassy stresses that the processing of the documentation for mothers, and their children, provided by the Saudi authorities is not covered by the royal order extending the correction grace period until 03 November 2013. This process is a special arrangement and is the first step in preparation for repatriation," it said.

It said that as of noon of July 2, 312 mothers have completed the interview process, while 266 mothers and children are to complete the DNA testing procedure Tuesday.

But some 400 mothers and their children have yet to undergo interviewing by the inter-agency team from the local authorities, it said.

The embassy said it called 100 mothers for interview on Monday and Tuesday respectively but only 40 or so showed up for each day.

"As such, the Embassy urges Filipino females who have undocumented children and earlier registered with the Embassy to proceed immediately to the Um Al-Hammam Field Office for initial processing by the Embassy team, and interview by the local authorities," it said.

It said those who have already completed the interview and are scheduled for DNA testing shall be contacted by Embassy personnel.

They will be advised them on when they can proceed to the Um Al-Hammam Field Office for testing.

Those with questions may email rype@riyadhpe.com or call Ebrahim Zailon at mobile no.: 055-925-0419.

On the other hand, the Embassy cautioned mothers against believing it is easy to add their children to their iqama should they be able to find a new employer.

Upon processing, a travel document will be given to the mother along with a processing number. The first step is an interview, with 70 to 80 mothers interviewed per day— LBG, GMA News
