3 hurt, 100 families lose homes in predawn QC fire
At least three fire volunteers were reported injured while some 100 families lost their homes in a fire that hit a residential area in Quezon City before dawn Friday.
The fire reached Task Force Bravo and razed 50 houses in Baesa village in Quezon City, radio dzBB's Roland Bola reported.
Quezon City fire marshal Superintendent Jesus Fernandez said theyare still determining what caused the fire.
A separate dzBB report said three volunteer firefighters were injured after a fire truck they were riding went out of control and crashed along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue.
The report cited initial information indicating the fire truck went out of control after its driver swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle that allegedly cut in front of it.
The truck turned turtle and disrupted traffic in the North EDSA area. — ELR, GMA News
