Report: Pinay held in Malaysia for British baby abduction
A Filipina was reportedly detained in Malaysia for the abduction last weekend of a 20-month-old British baby, a Malaysian news site reported Sunday.
Malaysia's New Straits Times said the Filipina was believed to have worked as a maid with the family of baby Freddie Joseph.
“The woman is believed to have been employed with the family for about a year,” it quoted a police source as saying. It added its source indicated the Filipina was picked up at an undisclosed location at 11 a.m.
A separate report on The Malaysian Insider said two suspects had been taken into custody as of Sunday afternoon.
Baby Freddie was abducted from his home by a man who entered the family’s compound in Bangsar.
His mother Sarah Joseph, 39, tried to struggle with the man, but he managed to speed away with the baby aboard a white sedan.
