DFA: 165 repatriated Pinoys due home from Libya this week

At least 165 repatriated Filipinos are set to arrive in the Philippines this week from Libya, the Department of Foreign Affairs said. 
 
According to the DFA, the first batch composed of 39 Filipinos was scheduled to arrive at 3:10 p.m. Monday on board flight QR926 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.

On March 24, five more Filipinos will arrive at 12:10 p.m. via flight PR311 in Terminal 2. 
 
These arrivals will bring the total number of Filipino repatriates from Libya to 4,414 since May 2014, the DFA said.
 
Representatives from the Philippine Embassy in Tunisia and Tripoli provided accommodation and basic necessities, as well as consular and airport assistance to the repatriates before they left for Manila on March 22.
 
Embassy officials are now finalizing the flight details of the other batches of Filipino repatriates.
 
Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario had appealed to Filipinos in Libya to return to the Philippines during his visit to Tunisia from March 13 to 14.
 
Some 4,000 Filipinos continue to stay in the strife-torn country despite the mandatory repatriation offered by the DFA.
 
The Philippine government had placed the North African state under Crisis Level 4 due to the volatile situation in the country. 
 
Over the weekend, Malacañang said the repatriation process for Filipinos in Libya is becoming increasingly difficult as days go on, with the government having to contend with the stoppage of commercial flights to the strife-torn country.
 
The DFA and Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte have appealed to kin of the Filipino in Libya to help convince their loved ones to avail themselves of the repatriation. — Xianne Arcangel/RSJ, GMA News
