3 ‘Pinoy’ brothers die while escaping raid in Sabah — report
Three brothers believed to be Filipinos died while trying to escape from a raid in a central market in Lahad Datu in Sabah on Friday, a Malaysian news site reported.
A report on Malaysia's The Star Online said the three suffocated when they hid in a narrow space under the central market along with dozens of others.
It identified the three as Laud Nasir, Nordin and Alex, between 18 and 30 years old. It said the three were "believed to be Filipino nationals who were illegally selling fish at the five-foot way near the market."
The report said many people at the market ran when they saw the raiding team arrive.
Several people, including the three brothers, then squeezed into the narrow space under the market.
